Xomba pays more than other writing sites
Xomba pays more than other writing sites
Xomba pays more than other writing sites
I enjoy writing and am a member of many freelance writing sites online. I see there is some debate as to which pays higher. I for one believe that the sites that pay highest are those that pay you straight into your google adsense account rather than the adsense sharing sites which pay you per 1000 views.
Most online sites, ie helium, associated content, triond and bukisa to name a few pay you depending on the number of pageviews you receive whereas sites such as Xomba and hubpages pay you for the google adsense impressions you receive. Associated content pays a measely $1.50 per thousand views. On this site I have 13 articles, and these are well written articles which are SEO optimised and I can tell you I never make the $1.50 required for payout each month. Pretty sad isnt it.
Xomba is a different story. Despite me spending less time here I still earn more here through adsense than I do from associated content in a month. Why is this Simply because clicks can range in value from 1 cent to several dollars. One click could even earn you the $1.50 you need from associated content for payout.
So why do I spend less time on Xomba Considering my latest facts you may wonder why I do not spend more time here, but the truth is I like my earnings guaranteed. I know when I write some articles at helium I am guaranteed an upfront payment, whereas when I post on xomba I have no idea if I will get a click or not. Combine this with the high google adsense payout and that is enough to put me off.
In the future I shall spend some more timeon xomba and my blogs and websites which earn me more every month than adsense revenue sharing sites. Writing is my favourite pastime and I love searching for news and keywords. I may as well write more where I am paid more.

Comment viewing options
What you say on Associated Content is not entirely true. I request upfront payment when I publish there and keep my rights to publish elsewhere. I am often paid between $1 to $3.50 for each article, then continue to earn in passive income.
I agree that Xomba can be more profitable, but like you say, it is so much luck!
Unfortunately only US citizens can take advantage of the upfront payments and I dont fall into this category.

Commissioner Harmon, maybe you should check out your facts. The "big" tax cut that Obama keeps proclaiming is not even remotely a tax cut. Obama says that the $13 extra now in people's pay check. But, in fact it is actually just a change in the withholding. So in reality, what's happening is people are getting there tax refund $13 a week early instead of one lump sum next year. Explain to me Mr Harmon how that is a tax cut I haven't seen any other tax cuts passed yet you Obama supporters keep saying that 95% of Americans get cuts, but where are they Can't seem to find any results when I google Obama Tax Cuts. I see talk of what they want to do, but no passed laws...
Posted by motorcycleboy on April 16, 2009 at 12:30 a.m.
"Harmon said President Obama recently delivered one of the largest tax cuts in history."
So that's how it works -- Obama gives his cronies an 8 dollar a week 'tax cut' and that's supposed to make him as popular as Ronald Reagan, but trillion-plus dollar deficits for the next 9 years running are nothing to worry about

"I'm not really sure what the downside is to what's going on in government," said Johnson, who is chairwoman of the Knox County Democratic Party.
ASTONISHING!! Does this idiot have any kids Maybe she should ask THEM, since THEY'LL be paying for most of the expansion in government.

I find it curious that I heard about today's Tea Party this morning while listening to 97.5FM here in Knoxville. At no point did the deejay mention that it was anything to do with a protest or idealogical motive; she made it sound like some kind of fun festival open to the general public.

The US as we know it is a sinking ship. It might not sink next week, but it's been taking on water for years now and will go down eventually. Why do you think the people on top of things at every level of our society, from universities to banks to corporations to local governments to the federal government, are taking the money and cutting everything None of this is about saving our society, it's all about gutting this country like a car in a chop shop while there's still something to gut.
And when there's nothing left to gut, the rich elite will scurry away in half-empty life-rafts while the Titanic takes the rest of us to a watery grave.
People need to wake up. All of this rhetoric and propaganda about the US being so mighty and powerful is just that-- rhetoric and propaganda. There are countless examples throughout human history of what happens to a nation when it makes the choices we've made, and the choices that have been made on our behalf.
The only way to save this country is for the PEOPLE to put down their bags of McDonald's, stop grinding the 9-5 endlessly to pay for cheap consumer goods, stop dumbing themselves down with silly pop culture, and start being human again. It's time to educate yourselves. It's time to stop drugging your kids and get them out of the system. They're the only ones who have even a slim chance at putting Humpty back together again.
The best thing any young, educated and unattached American could do right now is get the heck out of this country and off of this continent for a few years. Rip the "Americana" IV out of your veins and see what's real in this world, because it sure as heck isn't what we're spoonfed from the cradle on.

Roger, I'm not sure you know what you're complaining about.
By receiving a large tax refund at the end of the year, what you've essentially done is allow the government to spend your money all year on loan and return it to you free of interest.
By including your "tax refund" throughout the year, a wise investor could put that money away and earn interest. We see new iPhones, laptops, etc as our reward for a large refund and totally miss that we could have used that money more wisely throughout the year and still gotten the things we want, while earning interest.

• Stop eating at Mc Donald's
• Move to another country

Yesterday was a good day. Hopefully we can build on the success and cut this administration and congress off at the pass before they take us completely over the edge.

Where were the "tea-baggers" when George Bush was running our deficit to record levels and lying to us to start a war
Oh, wait -- I understand -- George Bush was a white man and he had the support of Fox Noise.

People were angry about Bush's spending too. Are you suggesting that your preceived lack of outrage over Bush's deficits excuses BO's actions
Difference here is that in less than 3 months, BO has pledged to spend more money than all of the previous 43 presidents did in the 2,788 months prior to BO's election.
If that point is lost on you, then there is no hope for you.

"The "big" tax cut that Obama keeps proclaiming is not even remotely a tax cut."
True. And yet I keep hearing Democrats proclaiming this "the biggest tax cut in history", asking why we're not grateful, and saying we should "thank President Obama."
For what
These are the same people who (with some justification) complained about the money spent on Iraq and Afghanistan, yet far more has been spent in the past few months and even Barney Frank can't tell us where exactly, he doesn't know. Gratitude for a debt we're all going to have to pay back for years to come, and we don't even know what we really bought and we sure haven't said we wanted it ... whatever it is.
We've heard impassioned speeches promising the moon, but the devil's in the details and the reality's anything but pretty. Washington's on a spending spree, and we're all liable. It's nothing short of despicable.

What I keep seeing form the dems/libs/lefties is that more taxes will help our country.
I have a really far out idea here....how bout we ask the government to spend OUR taxes properly
Is there anyone here that thinks the government does the right thing with OUR cash Is there no program/s that can be cut or or cut back
More money in the governments hands is not the answer. They can't spend what they have effectivley, you think they can manage more
I said GOVERNMENT...not Bush....not Obama....I'm speaking of time since forever here folks.

I attended one of these rallies yesterday (not in Knoxville). It was an uplifting experience to see normally quiet citizens speaking out about their outrage over what our President and Congress are doing to us. I didn't hear very much about taxes. All of the speakers were irate over the massive spending of money we don't have. About what its going to do to the futures of our children and grandchildren.
There were speakers really mad about the memo from Janet Napolitano and Homeland Security, advising that citizens with political views that don't agree with the administrations', are being profiled. Local law enforcement is being ask to keep an eye on us. Our military veterans are even being singled out.
They've made a cult hero out of a terrorist bomber (William Ayers), yet are profiling our veterans and everyday citizens. I don't believe this movement will end with TEA Party Day. Our hard working, tax paying citizens have finally had enough.
By the way, the anger I saw here is directed at both political parties.

This is possibly the truest of all...since most people I've seen at the Knoxville rally don't quite look like they are in the $250K category.

What a joke!! Where have you people been over the last eight years You seem to have other motives for your discontent. Our children were sent to an unnecessary war that put this country in the financial ruins it is now in and I did not see you out protesting when the billions were being spent to kill our sons and daughters. I think there is some underlying anger here about other issues. Red state, blue president.
Posted by robarnes on April 16, 2009 at 7:43 a.m.
It seems the numbers are a bit off. 1700 More like 5000, I guess you are not counting the entire overflow that could not fit in the place. The media may not want to admit there is a real political movement but the next election will bear it out. Are you listening Washington You will! True Patriots still are willing to fight the fight to keep our freedom.

Ten Trillion and Counting
"Government has got to run big deficits to stimulate the economy, deficits that would have been unthinkable ... because government's the only entity with the wherewithal to prop up a demand in the economy when businesses and consumers are all pulling back."
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontli...All of the federal government's efforts to stem the tide of the financial meltdown have added hundreds of billions of dollars to an already staggering national debt, a sum that is expected to double over the next 10 years to more than $23 trillion. In Ten Trillion and Counting, FRONTLINE traces the politics behind this mounting debt and investigates what some say is a looming crisis that makes the current financial situation pale in comparison.

If there were 60 of these events planned in Tennessee, as claimed in the article, why were people from Kingsport coming to Knoxville
With 60 events planned, surely the 5th most populous county (Sullivan... where Kingsport is located) would have had its own event. Unless the "60" claimed is total BS.
Disclaimer:Sullivan may not be 5th largest any longer. I based my assessment on the old system, where the first number on your license plate indicated which county you lived in, based on population, e.g. 1=Shelby (Memphis), 2=Davidson (Nashville), 3=Knox, 4=Hamilton (Chatt), 5=Sullivan (Kingsport/Bristol), 6=Washington (Johnson City), etc.

In a period of drought you conserve water, but when your house is on fire you forget conservation. The house is burning down and the arsonists are Bush and Cheney. We can't worry about conserving water NOW. PUT OUT THE FIRE.

I thoroughly enjoyed the event, toting along my "COME AND TAKE IT" flag. Quite a number of people asked about the flag and what it meant and took pictures as well.
It is really redundant to continue asking posters where they were the last eight years, as if no one here protested the war or protested Bush's massive spending spree during his tenure. TRUE CONSERVATIVES DID and true Conservatives opted for third party candidates.. Neo Cons DID NOT blink an eye. So don't mistake TRUE CONSERVATIVES with neo con Republicans. The party left us and we punished them for their waste and fraud.
I'm a Right Wing Extremist because I believe in less government, states rights, national sovereignty, state sovereignty, returning government to the people and less taxes, wastes, and pork. I'm a Right Wing Extremist because I am against abortion, using tax dollars to pay for abortions, condoms, and pig crap studies. I'm against illegal immigration and that makes me a R.W.E. How stupid is this Where is the study on Left Wing Extremist
